FOCUS FORWARD @ VCP:
Every year since 2019, the Vermont Center for Photography has collaborated with Turning Point of Windham County to offer Focus Forward, an 8-week class in introductory digital photography for people in recovery.
Focus Forward is a free, beginner-friendly photography program designed to provide participants with the tools, skills, and creative support to explore digital photography in a welcoming and supportive environment. No prior experience is necessary.
Each participant will be provided with a professional Nikon digital camera for the duration of the class and will receive hands-on instruction in both photography fundamentals and digital editing using Adobe software in VCPās digital lab. The course is led by Putney School teacher Michael Zuhorski and emphasizes learning through practice, experimentation, and creative exploration.
The program culminates in a public exhibition at the Vermont Center for Photography, featuring select work created by each student during the class.
Focus Forward is intentionally small to foster a supportive, collaborative learning environment where each participant can receive individualized attention.
