Course Description:
The best thing about zines is that anyone can make one – it doesn’t matter if you’re a professional artist, a hobbyist, or if you work a 9 to 5 office job, the zine is a truly democratic way of expressing yourself.
This workshop will explore the medium of the photozine, with respect to the history of zines and self publishing. The zine format allows a level of creativity and experimentation that can free up your artistic practice. By utilizing your own photographs and other materials, we will learn the ins and outs of zine making while having fun with this playful medium. Along with discussion about the history of zines and self publishing, each participant will leave with at least one zine of their own creation.
