Photo Slam IV: A Night to Share Your Photography
A photographic melding of the ‘poetry slam’, the folk music ‘coffeehouse’ and ‘PechaKucha’.

Are you looking for a venue to share your photographic work with other regional photographers and photo-appreciators in a non-threatening and approachable environment? VCP’s Photo Slam is your place! Any photographers are welcome to participate. You do not need to be a VCP member – and experience levels and photographic style & subject matter will vary greatly. Sign up to present your photographs or just come and watch the action!
The evening is limited to twelve presentations total and the presenting slots are a first-come, first-serve basis. There will be a short intermission at the halfway point and refreshments (by donation) will be available.
Peoples Choice Award:
Each PhotoSlam gathering, the audience will be invited to cast their ballot for their favorite presentation – we’ll quickly tally the votes at the end of the night and present the winner with a special reward – so be sure to stick around to hear the results!
HERE’S HOW IT WORKS:
1. Complete the simple sign-up form below ahead of the event to hold your spot! You may also sign up the night of, in person, though sign-ups are a first-come first-serve basis.
2. If you signed up to present, please arrive by 6:45pm the night of the Photo Slam with a thumb-drive containing 20 JPG’s. We will collect the JPG’s from you before the start of the event. The order of presentations will be listed based on the order you signed up. (Click HERE to download a PDF instruction sheet, which outlines how to size and name your JPG’s)
3. Presentations will begin at 7pm. When it’s your turn, your images will be pulled up on the projector and each of your photos will be presented for 20 seconds each (thats 20 jpg’s, 20 seconds each, totaling ~7 minutes) while you add live commentary! Tell us about your work, the stories behind them, what inspired you to take these photos…etc. It’s your stage!
