VCP’s Code of Conduct
At Vermont Center for Photography (VCP), we strive to create a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for everyone involved in our community. This includes staff, instructors, volunteers, artists, visitors, and participants in VCP’s programs. We believe in fostering an atmosphere of respect, creativity, and collaboration. As such, we have established the following Code of Conduct:

- Respect different viewpoints, perspectives, and experiences.
- Practice patience and understanding in all interactions.

- Embrace diversity in all its forms, including race, gender, age, ability, sexualorientation, and background.
- Oppose discrimination and exclusion of any kind.
- Promote an inclusive atmosphere that celebrates diverse voices and experiences.

- Behave in a professional manner at all times.
- Use appropriate language and refrain from offensive or disrespectful remarks.
- Follow all rules and guidelines set by the art center.

- Safety and Well-being

- Prioritize the safety and well-being of yourself and others.
- Report any unsafe conditions or incidents to the appropriate personnel.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines during events and activities.

- Zero Tolerance for Harassment and Discrimination

- Harassment, discrimination, or bullying of any kind will not be tolerated.
- Harassment includes, but is not limited to, unwelcome verbal or physical conduct that intimidates, belittles, or offends others.
- Report any incidents of harassment or discrimination to a staff member or board member.

- Responsibility and Accountability

- Take responsibility for your actions and behavior.
- Be accountable for any impact your actions may have on others.
- Respect the property and facilities at VCP.
Consequences for Violations
• Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action, including warnings, cancellation of VCP membership, removal from the premises, or further action as deemed appropriate.
• Repeated or severe violations may lead to a permanent ban from VCP.
Reporting and Feedback
• If you experience or witness any behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, please report it to a staff member or board member.
• We welcome your feedback on how we can continue to improve our policies and environment.
