In Memory of Rebecca Lepkoff
VCP is very saddened by the news of the loss of our dear friend and member Rebecca Lepkoff. Rebecca, who just celebrated her 98th birthday a few weeks ago, passed away peacefully on August 17th in Townshend, VT. Rebecca’s photographs were featured in many important exhibitions including A History of Women Photographers at the New York Public Library (1996) and Radical Camera: New York’s Photo League at the Jewish Museum (2011). Recently she had a solo exhibition at the Tenement Museum on the Lower East Side. You can see Rebecca in the film, Ordinary Miracles: The Photo League’s New York.
It was such a pleasure and a great honor to have been able to spend time with her over the last 3 years I have been at VCP. She never ceased to amaze me with her sharp wit and deep passion for photography. VCP extends our deepest condolences and thoughts to her family & loved ones.
