FOCUS FORWARD at VCP
FOCUS FORWARD at VCP
Dates: Oct 6th – Nov 24th, 2024, 2-5pm
Thanks to the Thomas Thompson Trust, and instructor Liz LaVorgna, VCP is thrilled to offer Focus Forward, an 8-week class in introductory digital photography for people in recovery, again this fall!
Focus Forward is open to a maximum of 5 participants per class. The program is offered free-of-charge and no experience is necessary. Each student will have their own Nikon digital camera to use during the 8 weeks. Instruction will cover the basics of using a camera, picture taking, and learning to edit images on a Macintosh computer. At the end of the program, an exhibit of select images from each student will be on display at VCP, with a reception open to friends, family and the public. All who successfully finish the 8-week Focus Forward program will receive a free, one-year membership to VCP. Pre-Registration and a commitment to all 8 weeks of classes required.
Instructor
The class instructor is Liz LaVorgna, a Brattleboro-based photographer who has worked with and taught photography to many diverse populations of people in our area. Liz is a dedicated teacher with a warm and compassionate style, and will give lots of personal attention to students, working with each person’s unique learning needs.
VCP hopes that by learning the craft of photography, Focus Forward participants will find a new means of creative expression, and a powerful new tool in their recovery process.
