ARTISTS TALK: Michael Poster
VCP is pleased to be hosting an artists talk with local Brattleboro photographer Michael Poster on his series currently on exhibit at VCP titled Dreamland.
The talk will be held Thursday, September 19th beginning at 6pm.
About Dreamland:
Drilling for natural gas began near Michael’s former home in Montrose, Pennsylvania some time in 2008. Soon after, he began to make pictures of his friends and neighbors. It was clear their lives were about to change dramatically. A few would get rich from lucrative leases and royalties while others would be cheated and sickened by the gas companies. Michael felt compelled to record the community he knew before the lust for fuel transformed their lives.
Poster will discuss the pictures, and aspects of natural gas production not often reported by the media.
Please come out to support this fabulous local photographer. Refreshments will be served.
The event is FREE and open to the public. (VCP is a fully handicap accessible facility.)
