FREE EVENT: Image Transfer Demonstration with Chris Triebert

Sunday, November 15th, 2026, 12–2pm
In VCP’s Library
Free and open to all

Ever wondered how to get a photograph onto wood, metal, or fabric? Join photographer Chris Triebert for an afternoon demonstration of the inkjet transfer process.

Chris will start with an introduction to image transfers and the many ways to make them, then focus on her preferred method: inkjet transfer film paired with an alcohol and paste solution. She’ll share examples of finished transfers on a range of surfaces and walk through the basic procedure live on several different substrates. It’s a simple, direct process, but one that takes a bit of practice to get a feel for, so this is a great chance to see it done by someone who knows its quirks.

No experience or materials needed. Just bring your curiosity and your questions.

About Chris Triebert:

Working from her studio along the Rock River in South Newfane, Vermont, Chris Triebert creates photographic work in which the qualities of the process are intrinsic to the concept. Her practice ranges from camera-less paper negatives exposed in the darkroom to large-scale portraits on aluminum and still lifes transferred onto painted fabric, with each body of work developing its own custom techniques.

Her prints are held in the collections of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Bank of America, Polo Ralph Lauren, and The Ritz-Carlton, as well as by many private collectors. She has exhibited throughout New England, at the NY Photography Show, in interior design showrooms in New York and Los Angeles, and at the Architectural Digest Home Design Show. Chris is a longtime former member of VCP’s board, and her studio is open to the public each July during Southern Vermont’s Rock River Artists Tour.
