ARTIST TALK: Joan O’Beirne
Sunday, August 10th at 5pm
Free & open to the public
Join us at VCP on Sunday, August 10th at 5pm for an artist talk with photographer Joan O’Beirne, whose powerful exhibition Detachments is currently on view in our Main Gallery. O’Beirne will discuss the personal and political underpinnings of her work, her process, and the evolution of Detachments—a deeply introspective body of work exploring family, identity, and disconnection through layered, evocative imagery.
Based in Brattleboro, Joan O’Beirne is a photographic artist and educator whose practice draws from documentary, collage, and narrative traditions. Her work has been exhibited throughout the Northeast. In addition to her studio practice, she teaches photography at Greenfield Community College, where she is known for mentoring the next generation of visual storytellers.
Don’t miss this opportunity to hear directly from the artist in an intimate and inspiring setting.
